RÖSLER Develops New Software for Vulcanization
The companies Rodos and Schelkmann stand for high quality OTR tire retreading in both the hot and cold process methods of tire renewal. The quality and longevity of the tires is largely effected by the vulcanization process. Constant innovations are the key to better quality and more value for money. The department for “Research and Development” which started last year has developed a special software for these reasons. The software allows Rösler to control the temperature and duration of the vulcanization process.
Temperature and duration are the two deciding factors for vulcanization. The rubber needs to have just the right temperature for just the right time to be interwoven correctly and the tire stays strong.
This is particularly important for the hot process used by Rodos (which is a process that takes several hours) because every unnecessary delay makes for substandard vulcanization of the rubber. This would reduce the durability of the tire and weakens the carcass at vulcanization temperatures of over 150°C. It is also important in the Cold process used by Schelkmann, for the bonding of the vulcanized tread with the carcass. This bonding needs to happen under 99°C which can lead to under vulcanization occurring.
It is possible to control the heating times in autoclaves with perfectly harmonized hard and software where the pre-molded threads are vulcanized. This is why the researchers at Rösler developed their own software which can keep track and calculate changes in the 6 important control points in the vulcanization of tires that can prevent sub standard vulcanization taking place. Rodos and Schelkmann have received the highest possible standards in quality, durability and reliability and because the new software optimizes the heating times, Rösler has been to save on electricity bills.
An advantage that all Rösler customers can profit from: the new software is available free of charge for all licensed customers across the world.
